Ghost Layer: This Porsche 356 Rally Car Is a Memory that Never Was

Pawel Kalinowski took a Porsche 356 his friend had given up on and painted a life onto it. Eleven objects went into eleven sealed jars and into the car. Eleven sentences went onto the bodywork in ultraviolet paint, invisible until the light changes.

A device his friend built out of a box of parts runs the room on a loop, forty seconds of soft ambient light and twenty seconds of black light, and the two never show you the same car. Under one you get the jars. Under the other the jars vanish and a Japanese rally driver from the 1960s starts talking about the interview he never showed up for.
