Keith Bluemel's detailed pictorial history concentrates on the road cars, and on the facts. He takes the story of the company from its foundation in 1947 by Enzo Ferrari, through the classic period of the 1950s and 1960s, to the modern era when the company retains its distinctive identity as part of the Fiat empire. He provides a concise description of the model range from the start of production to the 1990s, and he includes technical details that will help the reader to distinguish between the sometimes bewildering number of apparently similar models. The book features those early cars that could be driven on the road and in serious competition on the track, and it covers the more recent models, many of which are seen as the ultimate expressions of modern sports car design.
